Measured per person or by income, Arizona’s income-tax burden is among the lower one-third of the states. Its property and fuel taxes rank in the broad mid-range of states.
Bloomberg Personal, a magazine for the wealthy, tested four income and asset scenarios in every state and placed Arizona in the upper echelon of states with “wealth-friendly” tax policies.
- Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine last year did a city-to-city comparison of state and local taxes that rated Phoenix 96th in tax burden among 106 major cities. No. 1 had the highest tax burden.
- For the most part, residents have it good.
