Of the 15 casinos in Arizona, there are four casinos within 50 miles of downtown Phoenix. Those machines are programmed to pay back 85 to 95 percent, according to a state gaming department official.

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community built a Talking Stick Golf Course on 325 acres. The name refers to the Pima’s traditional calendar stick, used by the tribe’s chief to mark historical events in a calendar year. While Talking Stickcomplements resorts that do not offer golf, the aim was to make it a quality public play course that is affordable. Troon Golf Management company operates the course.
